The actress and director talks about the status of the long-awaited sequel to The Batman and her hopes for the future of her Catwoman. It’s been more than two years since the release of Matt Reeves’ The Batman (2022) with Robert Pattinson in the role of the famous superhero, and little news has been available on the highly anticipated sequel. The one to give news on the status of the film was Mattson Tomlin, co-writer of the film, who in a recent interview assured that the project is still in the works. Now, Zoë Kravitz has also offered some updates on the comic book movie.
Zoë Kravitz, currently busy promoting her first film as a director Blink Twice (2024), in a recent interview with Collider had the opportunity to give some previews of the sequel to The Batman and what fans can expect from Catwoman. "Matt [Reeves, the director and screenwriter] hides in his hole when he writes" explained the actress on the status of the film's script. "He is very intense, he is a director who focuses on the details, so in these cases, I can focus on my stuff until people contact me".
Speaking about her hopes and what she hopes will happen to her character Selina Kyle aka Catwoman, Kravitz revealed: "The general idea of Selina in that film [in the first chapter] is that it is the origin story. So obviously there is still a lot more to explore. It was a story about a woman finding her power and wanting to explore what it feels like to play and use that power.” Speaking about her hopes for future films, the actress said, “Hopefully, it will be a lot of fun [playing Catwoman] one day.”
