In the never-rich Labor Day weekend, no new film has managed to obtain an excellent result, and obviously, the one to take advantage of it was the record-breaking Marvel Studios film dedicated to the Merc with a Mouth. According to data provided by The Hollywood Reporter, Deadpool & Wolverine has taken home another 19.5 million dollars (in four days), now above 600 million (603.8 million to be precise). This is the 16th film in the history of the US Box Office to achieve this milestone. At an international level, Shawn Levy's film has added 29.2 million dollars to the overall haul, for a Worldwide total of 1.258 billion.
In second place, Alien: Romulus has grossed another $11.5 million (in four days), and is now riding high with a domestic total of $91 million, and a global total of $293.5 million, making it the second-highest grossing film in the history of the “Alien” franchise (not accounting for inflation). The surprising It Ends With Us, the romantic drama starring Blake Lively, has cemented its third position with a new $9.5 million (in four days) for a total of $135.8 million.
This film’s success has come despite growing rumors of a creative rift between the lead actress and director/actor Justin Baldoni, rumors that now seem to have died down. As anticipated, no new film achieved a significant result over the long Labor Day weekend, in fact, the most anticipated “Reagan” made a paltry collection of just under 10 million dollars (in four days), and this despite the presence of excellent reviews. Finally, the top five of the US Box Office was completed by Twisters which, with the takings of the long weekend, should reach 260 million.
