The release of Sonic the Hedgehog is fast approaching, and now we have a new look at Keanu Reeves' Shadow the Hedgehog. There's huge excitement to see the character in live-action, played by the Matrix and John Wick star. During a recent Q&A, franchise director Jeff Fowler praised Reeves' approach to playing Shadow. "It's great that we got Keanu Reeves to voice the character and he was great to work with," the director enthused. "He thinks the character is great and he definitely understood what we wanted to achieve and was very excited to do his version. Like all the cast, [he] really wants to get it right and he really cares."
"He would give us so many different versions of line readings and he just wanted to keep going. It wasn't like he showed up and read the script into a microphone," Fowler continued. "He really wanted to create a version of the character that was very true to the fans. He did his research.” “In our first meeting, he clearly did his homework, which was awesome. I can’t say enough wonderful things about Keanu and what he brought to the character and the experience of making this movie,” he concluded. “I think people are going to really, really love his version of Shadow.”

Director Jeff Fowler returns alongside an all-star cast that includes Jim Carrey, Ben Schwartz, James Marsden, Tika Sumpter, Idris Elba, Colleen O’Shaughnessey, Natasha Rothwell, Shemar Moore, Adam Pally, Lee Majdoub, newcomers Alyla Browne and Krysten Ritter, while Keanu Reeves joins the franchise as Shadow the Hedgehog.
