A setting for Wednesday season 2 suggests that a character’s story from the first season is not yet complete. Overall, there is still minimal information about the next installment of the Netflix series, although it is scheduled for release in 2025. However, the streaming service shared a short teaser on X (formerly Twitter), which may have included some subtle information about Wednesday season 2.
The teaser shared by Netflix’s X account features Jenna Ortega reading from a file detailing the gruesome state of a seemingly murdered corpse. Once she’s finished, Wednesday closes the file and bids Hand goodnight. The iconic Addams Family hand is then shown tucked up for bed, revealing that Wednesday was reading what she considers a bedtime story to her friend.
Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital Teased for Season 2 on Wednesday
The file Wednesday is reading in the Netflix social teaser has the words “Willow Hill Psychiatric Hospital” printed on the front, which is notable since this is where Tyler Galpin was taken at the end of season 1. Wednesday certainly wouldn’t have been given such a file freely, so it seems likely that she’ll be infiltrating the psychiatric hospital to steal items to aid her investigation. Of course, if Wednesday is sneaking into this location in season 2, it also seems likely that she could run into Tyler again. This tells us that the character hasn’t quite completed his arc on the show!
What We Know About Wednesday 2
Wednesday is coming back! She’s also back with Mano, who gave the cast the script for the highly anticipated second season as filming began in Ireland. After the success of the first season with more than 250 million views, which remained at the top of Netflix's Global Top 10 for 20 weeks and entered the Top 10 in 93 countries, the series, created and directed by the brilliant mind of Tim Burton, will return only on Netflix with some exciting new additions to the cast.
Jenna Ortega reprises her iconic role as Wednesday Addams, alongside Catherine Zeta-Jones, Luis Guzmán, and Isaac Ordonez in the roles of Morticia, Gomez, and Pugsley Addams respectively. Among the new cast of the second season, we see the entry of Steve Buscemi (The Big Lebowski, Boardwalk Empire) and the participation of Christopher Lloyd (The Addams Family, Back to the Future) as a guest star of the series.
New additions also include Billie Piper (Scoop, I Hate Suzie), Evie Templeton (Return to Silent Hill, Lord of Misrule), Owen Painter (The Little Things in Life, The Handmaid’s Tale) and Noah Taylor (Law & Order: Organized Crime, Park Avenue), joined by Joanna Lumley (Fool Me Once, Absolutely Fabulous), Thandiwe Newton (Westworld, Crash), Frances O’Connor (The Missing, The Twelve), Haley Joel Osment (The Kominsky Method, Somebody I Used to Know), Heather Matarazzo (The Princess Diaries, Scream) and Joonas Suotamo.
“We are thrilled that the Addams Family will return to Nevermore Academy in Season 2, along with a dream cast of icons and new faces,” said creators, writers, and showrunners Al Gough and Miles Millar.
