The release date of the third highly anticipated season of Yellowjackets, the successful and highly acclaimed TV series starring Christina Ricci, has been revealed. Paramount+ has announced the release date of the third season of Yellowjackets, the Emmy-nominated SHOWTIME drama series. The new season is scheduled to debut internationally exclusively on Paramount on February 14, as well as in the United Kingdom, Australia, Latin America, Brazil, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, and, later this year, France.
Two-time Academy Award winner Hilary Swank (Million Dollar Baby and Boys Don’t Cry) will guest star, joining the stellar cast that also includes Joel McHale (Community). Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson (Narcos), Yellowjackets tells the saga of a team of talented high school soccer players who (un)fortunately survive a plane crash in the remote northern wilderness. The series chronicles their descent from a complex but strong and close-knit team to a wild clan.
While also following the lives they’ve tried to piece together nearly 25 years later, proving that the past is never truly the past and that what began in the wilderness is far from over. Combining survival epic, psychological horror, and coming-of-age drama, the ten-episode third season will pick up after the dramatic finale of Season 2. Season three stars Melanie Lynskey (Castle Rock), Christina Ricci (Z: The Beginning of Everything), Tawny Cypress (Unforgettable), Lauren Ambrose (Servant),
Sophie Nélisse (The Book Thief), Jasmin Savoy Brown (The Leftovers), Sophie Thatcher (Heretic), Samantha Hanratty (Shameless), Courtney Eaton (Mad Max: Fury Road), Liv Hewson (Santa Clarita Diet), Steven Krueger (The Originals), Warren Kole (Shades of Blue), Kevin Alves (Locke & Key), Sarah Desjardins (The Night Agent) and Simone Kessell (Obi-Wan Kenobi), with Elijah Wood (The Lord of the Rings) returning in a recurring role. The series is produced for SHOWTIME by Lionsgate Television and is distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution outside of Paramount+ markets.
